Zhou Xun Shu finished a disappointing 25th out of 36 in the Second Annual Chase the Sun Open (第二届ä¸å›½è¿½æ—¥æŒ‘战赛) on Sunday at Xuelianshan Golf Club (雪莲山高尔夫çƒä¿±ä¹éƒ¨) in northwest China’s Xinjiang province. The “marathon” style tournament, open only to the country’s top 36 golfer, involved three 18-hole rounds of golf for each golfer in one day. Tournament sponsor Baofu Group (å®å¯Œ), based in Shenzhen, claims theirs is the first tournament of its kind in the world.
Zhou shot rounds of 76, 78 and 78 to put him 16-over par and 24 shots behind winner Zhang Lian Wei. Here’s the final leaderboard.
Zhou arrived in Shanghai late Monday night and early the following morning traveled to Kunshan’s Grand Shanghai International Golf & Holiday Resort (大上海国际高尔夫çƒåº¦å‡æ‘), which is a 15-minute train ride and a 20-minute taxi ride from Shanghai. Weather in Kunshan is currently very similar to Shanghai’: hot, hot, hot. Tomorrow it is supposed to “feel like” 48 degrees Celsius (118.4 Fahrenheit).
